Shiba Inu team launches NFT-based compensation after Shibarium Bridge hack
The Shiba Inu development team has responded to claims about its handling of the Shibarium Bridge hack. Lead developer Kaal Dhairya confirmed that authorities were notified, and federal agents questioned him as part of their investigation. A new compensation programme has now been launched for affected users.
The Shibarium Bridge hack prompted immediate action from the Shiba Inu team. Dhairya clarified that the incident was reported to authorities, with technical evidence and OSINT data shared during questioning. He addressed allegations that the team had failed to act, stating that cooperation with federal agents was ongoing.
A compensation system called Shib Owes You (SOU) has since been introduced. This initiative uses NFTs to document and track repayments, providing users with transparent, real-time updates on their claims. The approach aims to streamline the process while maintaining accountability.
Beyond compensation, the team has strengthened security measures. New upgrades and third-party audits have been implemented to prevent future breaches. These steps follow the hack, which exposed vulnerabilities in the bridge’s infrastructure.
The SOU programme now offers a structured way for users to recover lost funds. With NFT-based tracking, affected individuals can monitor their compensation status directly. Meanwhile, the team’s security improvements aim to restore confidence in the platform’s long-term stability.
