The Center for East and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin is on the hunt for a dedicated IT System Administrator to join their team. This full-time, unlimited position offers a competitive salary according to the TVöD salary scale, up to salary group E10, and a workplace in the heart of Berlin.

To be considered for the role, applicants must possess a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or several years of professional experience in a comparable field. Proven experience managing IT systems, networks, and infrastructure in an organizational setting is essential, as is proficiency in system administration, including server management, virtualization, security, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices, and good communication and problem-solving skills are also crucial.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and further developing the IT infrastructure, installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting, and resolving system failures. Relevant professional experience, very good knowledge of Microsoft systems, PowerShell, and experience in virtualization are essential for this role. Knowledge of current network technologies, backup technologies, and Linux is desirable.
