Russia’s pensions to rise 7.6% in 2026—here’s what retirees will earn
The average pension in Russia has seen a notable increase this year, with a significant rise expected in the coming months. The Russian Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is set to implement a 7.6% pension indexation starting in spring 2026.
As of now, working pensioners receive an average of 22,378.72 rubles per month. However, the average pension in Russia has climbed from 24,979.27 rubles since the start of the year. Meanwhile, non-working pensioners currently receive an average of 25,847.43 rubles per month. Looking ahead, from early 2026, the average pension for non-working retirees is anticipated to reach around 25,800 rubles per month, following the planned indexation.
The Russian pension system is poised for a boost in the coming months, with both working and non-working pensioners set to benefit from the planned increase. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection's 7.6% indexation is expected to provide much-needed relief to retirees.
