Russia’s My Export platform slashes red tape for trade certificates
A digital platform called My Export has revolutionized how businesses obtain certificates of origin. Developed by the Russian Export Center (REC) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it now handles thousands of applications online. In 2025 alone, 272 entrepreneurs from Nizhny Novgorod secured over 7,000 certificates through the system.
The My Export platform allows companies to apply for certificates of origin entirely online. Users can submit forms, review drafts, and request corrections before finalising their applications. This reduces errors and speeds up the approval process.
Applications require a qualified electronic signature from the CEO or an authorised representative with a confirmed managerial role. The system also automatically identifies which certificate formats are available, simplifying the process for businesses. A certificate of origin confirms where a product was made. Many contracts and trade agreements demand these documents, as they can lower import duties. Mourad Ben Hassine, CEO of the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX), noted that the platform helped meet 2025 export goals by streamlining certification.
The shift to digital processing has cut delays and paperwork for exporters. With over 7,000 certificates issued in one region last year, the platform demonstrates its efficiency. Businesses now handle certifications faster, helping them meet trade requirements more easily.
