Russian pensioners urged to check for missing pension payments
Russian pensioners may be missing out on payments due to errors in their records. The Social Fund of Russia (SFR) allows them to request a recalculation if they suspect underpayments. Over 1.2 million people could qualify for adjustments based on recent official data.
To start the process, pensioners must submit an application along with copies of their work record book, passport, and SNILS. The SFR reviews these documents before deciding on eligibility. If approved, further proof—such as records of work before 2002—may be needed.
In 2024 alone, more than 800,000 recalculations were approved by the SFR. Official reports from Rosstat and the fund itself highlight that many claims stem from unaccounted work periods or calculation mistakes. Quick action helps pensioners receive corrected payments sooner.
Those denied a recalculation still have options. They can challenge the decision in court, provided they file within three years of discovering the error.
The recalculation process aims to correct past errors and ensure pensioners receive what they are owed. With over a million potential claims, the SFR continues to process adjustments based on submitted evidence. Those affected can still act—either through the fund or the courts—to secure their rightful payments.
