Russian pensioners see unexpected February payment boosts from state adjustments
Many Russian pensioners have received an unexpected boost to their online payments in February. The increase comes from scheduled state supplements, recalculations, and new eligibility rules. Some recipients saw larger-than-usual amounts due to these adjustments.
The February payments include several key changes. Pensioners aged 80 and over automatically receive a fixed supplement of 9,584.69 rubles on top of their standard pension. Those who turn 80 after February will get their supplement later in the year, depending on their birthday.
Recipients of social pensions may also see advance payments this month. This is due to the annual indexing process and the way benefits are recalculated at the start of the year. Working pensioners with special service conditions could receive an individual monthly supplement, based on their average earnings and years of service. The extra funds in February also reflect completed recalculations from January's indexation. Some pensioners, particularly those turning 80 on 1 February 2026, may experience delays in receiving their supplement. Until November 2025, technical issues with the Deutsche Rentenversicherung's system caused these payments to arrive separately, days or weeks after the regular pension. Most supplements are applied automatically, meaning pensioners do not need to submit additional requests. However, if total pension income exceeds the tax threshold, a portion may be subject to income tax (NDFL). For clarity, pensioners can check their payment details through the Russian Pension Fund's website or the Gosuslugi portal. Those with questions or concerns can contact the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) or visit a Multifunctional Public Service Center (MFC) for assistance.
The February payments bring financial relief to many pensioners through automatic supplements and recalculations. Some may still face delays, particularly those turning 80 later in the year or affected by past technical issues. Official channels remain available for those needing further clarification on their entitlements.
