Russia Boosts Robotics Industry with 2.5 Billion Ruble Investment, Aiming for Top 25 by 2030
In 2025, Russia allocated 2.5 billion rubles to boost its robotics industry. The goal? To become a global leader, targeting a top 25 spot by 2030. President Putin has prioritized this, despite the current low robotization levels.
Last year, Russian enterprises commissioned over 8,000 industrial robots, a 60% increase from the previous year. This surge comes as the country aims to develop a unified software standard for these robots, a project currently underway. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is leading this effort to simplify integration.
To achieve its goals, Russia is creating the first six of 30 regional robotics development centers. Technological audits of enterprises are also being conducted to assess their robotization potential. Around 20 support measures in the field of machine tools and robotics are being implemented under the state program. The use of robots promises improved production quality and safety.
Russia's robotics industry is poised for significant growth. The 2026-2028 budget draft projects allocations of over 9 billion rubles in 2026, over 11 billion in 2027, and almost 23 billion in 2028. With these investments, Russia is determined to make its mark in the global robotics landscape.
