Russia Boosts Childcare and Maternity Benefits in 2028

In 2028, Russia's childcare and maternity benefits will see significant increases. The childcare benefit will reach 103,2 thousand rubles per month, while the maximum maternity benefit will be 258 thousand rubles per month, or nearly 1.2 million rubles for 140 days.

The childcare benefit for children up to 1.5 years old will rise to 95,5 thousand rubles per month in 2027. The maximum maternity benefit for 140 days in 2027 will be 1.1 million rubles, up from 955,8 thousand rubles in 2026. In 2026, the childcare benefit was 83 thousand rubles per month, and the maximum maternity benefit was 207,5 thousand rubles per month.

Starting September 1, 2026, full-time student mothers will receive a maternity benefit equal to 100% of the regional living minimum.

These increases aim to support families and encourage childbirth. The 2028 benefits represent a substantial rise from current levels, indicating a commitment to family support.
