Rostock's Wind Energy Plan Open for Public Scrutiny
The Regional Planning Association Rostock is developing a Spatial Development Programme for tourist, economic, settlement, and resource developments in Rostock and its district. The programme, currently in its second draft, identifies preferred areas for wind turbines and is accessible to the public on the association's website.
The public has until December 8 to submit statements regarding the draft. To encourage engagement, the association has scheduled information events across the region. These will occur in Rerik on October 6, Gnoien on October 9, Lalendorf on October 15, Güstrow on October 27, and Rostock on October 29, all starting at 5 pm. A joint public meeting is planned for October 7 in Güstrow town hall at 5 pm, although a public question and answer session is not guaranteed.
The programme aims to balance energy production needs with environmental protection and spatial planning criteria, addressing conflicts over land use and planning priorities. It seeks to determine settlement, infrastructure, and open space development in the region.
The Regional Planning Association Rostock's Spatial Development Programme, with its emphasis on wind turbine locations, is open for public review. With information events and a public meeting planned, citizens are encouraged to participate and share their views before the December 8 deadline.
