Railway delays impact construction: German Railway revealed on Wednesday (15.11.) that ongoing railway delays have adversely affected their construction project.

Rosmarinstraße in Düsseldorf-Flingern remains shuttered until the end of March 2024.

All That Construction Chaos in Flingern, Y'all!

Looks like those railway delays are causing some serious headaches—and not just for Deutsche Bahn.

It's been announced that the construction work for the new railway bridge on Rosmarinstraße won't wrap up until March 31, 2024. Initially, they hoped for an end of January finish, but the unexpected relocation of some telecom cables has thrown a wrench in their plans.

So, what does this mean for you? Well, Rosmarinstraße will remain closed to cars and buses between Höherweg and Fortunaplatz until then. Pedestrians and cyclists can squeeze through between December 22, 2023, and January 8, 2024, but then it's back to the detour life again.

In the meantime, the Hagebuttenweg is still accessible for residents via Ronsdorfer Straße. But be prepared: from November 24 to 29, 2023, there'll be some nighttime noise disturbances while they set the new bridge in place.

Once this construction's done, they'll be tackling the four-track Ronsdorfer Straße railway bridge south of Hagebuttenweg, starting in May 2024. It's gonna be another round of route and street closures, so hang tight.

Remember that pesky closure for pedestrians and cyclists back in May? Turns out there were some delays in installing the temporary bridge. But fret not, you'll be back in action (sort of) on June 9, 2023. Traffic under the Rosmarinstraße bridge can reopen during the day after they get that taken care of.

Other than that, don't forget to factor in some traffic disruptions when cruising through Flingern. They're renovating the railway bridge between Ronsdorfer and Rosmarinstraße. Expect the detour to be in effect until January 2024.

Just to top it all off, they've got an agreement with the city of Düsseldorf to make the bridge passage wider—from 8 to 19 meters.

Planning a trip around this mess? Here's where to find the latest details on construction and traffic disruptions:

  1. City of Düsseldorf's Official Website: Expect detailed project updates on timelines, road closures, and transportation changes.
  2. Transport Association Rhein-Ruhr (VRR): They’ll keep you posted on bus reroutes and other public transit adjustments due to construction.
  3. Local News Outlets: Snag some recent articles or updates on the latest construction projects happening in Düsseldorf.
  4. Google Maps or Other Navigation Apps: These can give you real-time traffic conditions and detour info.

So, keep your cool and your eyes peeled while navigating through Flingern—construction season is in full swing!

The ongoing construction work on the new railway bridge on Rosmarinstraße is causing disruptions in the public-transit system, particularly for buses, as Rosmarinstraße will remain closed to traffic until March 31, 2024. Furthermore, the finance industry may face challenges in the area due to the delays and subsequent transportation issues.
