Pepco Romania Appoints New Head of Operations
Pepco Romania, a leading retailer, has announced the appointment of Raul Ciungu Iordate as its new Head of Operations. With over 16 years of experience in the retail industry, Ciungu Iordate has held various leadership roles in operations management, human resources, compliance, and project management.
Ciungu Iordate takes over from Bogdan Grigoriu, who has been promoted to Regional Operations Director for Pepco South Europe. Grigoriu's new role entails overseeing the retailer's operations in seven countries, including Romania.
As the Head of Operations, Raul Ciungu will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing operational processes within Pepco Romania. This includes ensuring the efficient running of stores and improving workflow processes. In addition, he will oversee the implementation of the company's development and expansion strategies at the local level.
Pepco entered the Romanian market ten years ago and has since grown dramatically. The company's workforce has expanded from 202 employees in 2015 to 3,648 in January 2025. Currently, Pepco Romania operates 475 stores across the nation, making it the company's second-largest market after Poland.
While specific details about Raul Ciungu's previous work with Pepco are not immediately available, his role in the launch of Pepco's summer 2025 clothing collection, emphasizing comfort and natural materials for the entire family, suggests a significant operational role within the company.
