Roku Reports Q3 2025 Boom: 12% More Streaming Hours, Revenue Up 14%
Roku, the popular streaming device manufacturer, has reported a significant increase in total streaming hours and revenue for the third quarter of 2025. The company's earnings per diluted share stood at 16 cents, marking a positive turn after a net loss in the same period last year.
Roku's total streaming hours surged by 12% year over year, reaching 36.5 billion in Q3 2025. This growth is attributed to the increasing popularity of streaming services among consumers.
The company's revenue also grew by 14% to $1.21 billion, driven primarily by a 17% increase in Platform segment revenue to $1.065 billion. The Platform segment's operating margin improved to 51.7% in the quarter. However, Devices segment revenue declined by 5% to $146 million, with an operating margin of -15.7%.
Roku launched Howdy, a new ad-free subscription video service priced at $2.99 per month, during the quarter. This launch is expected to diversify Roku's revenue streams and attract more users to its platform.
Roku's positive operating income in Q3 2025, the first since 2021, reflects the company's strategic efforts to grow its platform and diversify its revenue. The increase in total streaming hours and revenue, coupled with the successful launch of Howdy, positions Roku strongly for the upcoming quarters.
