Rock Company Suspends Pariente, Initiates Internal Inquiry
Hard Rock International, the gaming unit of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, has taken swift action in response to allegations against one of its executives, Alex Pariente. The company has completed an initial internal investigation into Pariente's conduct, resulting in his suspension and subsequent departure from his position as senior vice president for hotel and casino operations.
The investigation was prompted by emails from gaming industry insider R.J. Cipriani, who sent correspondence to high-level Hard Rock executives, including CEO Jim Allen. These emails, which included an audio file, were instrumental in substantiating concerns that contributed to Pariente's suspension and eventual firing. However, specific details about the content of these emails have not been publicly disclosed.
The allegations against Pariente involve a scenario where an employee, at his behest, took a $100,000 from a Chinese gambler without proof of funds and potentially skirted reporting protocols. The investigation is due to these allegations, as well as claims that Pariente permitted money structuring practices and allowed credit markers to go unpaid at a casino resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Hard Rock International has made it clear that it is taking the matter extremely seriously. Honesty and integrity are core values of the company, and they hold all team members to the highest ethical standards. In a statement, the company confirmed that the employee in question has been suspended without pay pending the ongoing investigation.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), FBI Special Agent John Schettler, and IRS criminal investigator Chris Seymour were copied on the emails. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, no further updates have been provided about ongoing or additional phases of the investigation or related legal actions as of early August 2025.
R.J. Cipriani, also known as Robin Hood 702, has commended Hard Rock executives, including CEO Jim Allen and COO Jeff Hook, for taking swift action and considering the matter seriously. Cipriani believes it's time for the casino industry to remove allegedly corrupt executives like Pariente and Scott Sibella.
Hard Rock International operates about a dozen casinos in the US, with the allegations against Pariente casting a shadow over the company's reputation. Pariente's past employment includes Wynn Las Vegas and the Baha Mar Casino and Hotel in the Bahamas.
As the investigation continues, Hard Rock International remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency. The company is making clear that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct from its employees.
