Roberto Servitje, the founder of Grupo Bimbo, has passed away. According to Ebrard, he was known for his proactive and cooperative nature.

In a heartfelt statement, Marcelo Ebrard, the Secretary of Economy of Mexico, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Roberto Servitje, the co-founder of Grupo Bimbo, one of the world's largest food companies. Servitje passed away on Thursday at the age of over 90.

Born in Mexico City in 1928, Servitje played a significant role in the growth and success of Grupo Bimbo. Although the details of his role in the company are not fully disclosed, his contributions were undoubtedly vital.

As the co-founder, Servitje's legacy will continue to be felt in the company, particularly under the leadership of his nephew, Daniel Servitje Montull. Daniel, who assumed the role of director general in 1997, has since expanded the company globally, acquiring companies in various countries such as the United States, Spain, Colombia, and China.

Marcelo Ebrard remembered Roberto Servitje for his high sense of cooperation for Mexico, describing him as "always proactive." He added that Servitje's passing was a great loss to the nation.

In a move to further boost the Mexican economy, Grupo Bimbo recently announced an investment of 2 billion dollars (mdd) in seven states of Mexico between 2025 and 2028. This investment, which is part of the Mexico Plan proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum, is expected to create a total of 2,800 jobs (2,000 direct and 800 indirect).

Under Daniel Servitje Montull's leadership, Grupo Bimbo continues to thrive, maintaining its family-oriented management strategy. The company's website is now available on WhatsApp for news and updates, ensuring a continuous connection with its customers and stakeholders.

As the nation mourns the loss of Roberto Servitje, his legacy lives on in the continued growth and success of Grupo Bimbo under the leadership of his nephew, Daniel Servitje Montull.
