RIGG'S Gastro Files for Insolvency, Closing Ravensburg Restaurant and Laying Off 40+ Employees
RIGG'S Gastro GmbH, a renowned food establishment in Ravensburg, has filed for insolvency. The restaurant, famed for its location at Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße 2 and popular food trucks, closed on October 1st, leaving more than 40 employees jobless.
The company's financial struggles began months ago, with turnover decreasing significantly. Half of the revenue came from the delivery business, but changing consumer behaviour and the economic situation led to fewer customers dining out and ordering. This, coupled with the temporary closure of the catering business in Tettnang due to road construction, proved too challenging for the company to overcome.
Insolvency administrator Michael Wahl attempted to save the business by holding discussions with a potential buyer. However, these talks did not result in a sale, and the buyer eventually withdrew. The branches in Ravensburg and Tettnang were affected, but Rigg's Burger in Bad Saulgau was not affected by the insolvency.
RIGG'S Gastro GmbH's insolvency has led to the closure of the restaurant at Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße 2 and the loss of jobs for over 40 employees. Despite efforts to save the business, no potential buyer was found. The future of the Ravensburg and Tettnang branches remains uncertain.
