Released: 20th installment of PM-Kisan funding totaling 21,000 crore INR; Follow these easy steps to verify the status of your 2,000 INR bank transfer online
The Union Agriculture Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, chaired a high-level meeting to prepare for the release of the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme. The meeting was attended by senior officials from various agricultural institutions and ministries across the country, including 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), ICAR, agricultural universities, and the ministry.
The meeting was held ahead of the PM-Kisan scheme installment's release in Varanasi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since the launch of the PM-Kisan scheme in February 2019, a substantial amount of Rs 3.75 lakh crore has been transferred to farmers' accounts. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, the Centre transfers Rs 6,000 to farmers in three installments each financial year.
Each installment is issued every four months (April-July, August-November, and December-March). The 20th installment, costing the Central exchequer around Rs 21,000 crore, will benefit approximately 10 crore farmers across India.
To check if your name is in the PM-Kisan beneficiary list, you can visit the official PM-Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in. In the "Farmers Corner" section, click on "Know Your Status" or "Beneficiary Status." You can check your status by entering your Aadhaar number, registration number, or mobile number, along with the CAPTCHA code. After entering the details, click on "Get Data" to view your beneficiary status and payment details.
Alternatively, you can also check the beneficiary list by selecting your State, District, Sub-district, Block, and Village from the drop-down menus available on the site to see if your name appears. It is crucial to ensure that your Aadhaar and bank details are updated and that you have completed the mandatory e-KYC process, as payments depend on this verification.
The agriculture minister has directed to celebrate the event as a 'campaign' and 'festival' to increase farmer awareness about the PM-Kisan scheme. This online method allows you to confirm your inclusion in the PM-Kisan scheme and the status of installment payments. If a farmer has missed their Rs 2,000 credit, they can check their name in the PM-Kisan beneficiary list online. Farmers can also check if their payment has been credited using their Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account details on the official PM-Kisan website.
It is noteworthy that nearly 25% of the beneficiaries are female farmers, and the payments are made through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) without any involvement of middlemen. The minister's emphasis on celebrating the event as a campaign and festival aims to maximise farmer benefits and increase scheme awareness. Farmers who have not updated their documents may have their installment delayed, so it is essential to ensure your details are correct and updated on the government portal to be eligible for the 20th PM-Kisan Yojana installment.
The Union Agriculture Minister proposed a campaign and festival to increase awareness about the PM-Kisan scheme, emphasizing the importance of updating one's details for timely payments. This scheme, aimed at aiding farmers across India, has transferred a substantial amount of Rs 3.75 lakh crore since its inception in 2019. As the finance sector progresses, it would be intriguing to see the impact of Decentralized Finance (Defi) in the Indian agricultural market, potentially streamlining the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) process in the future.
