Reduced Energy Expenditure and Enhanced Comfort, Sustainability, and Asset Durability for a Leading Pharmaceutical Corporation: A Comprehensive Examination Demonstrates $650,000 Annually in Savings

In the heart of the Northeastern United States, a significant advancement in facilities management is underway. Cimetrics, a leading provider of advanced analytics for building automation systems, has partnered with Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturer (GPM) and their building automation system provider to optimise the management of their campus-wide facilities.

The partnership, spanning across 15 buildings totalling over 1.7 million square feet, aims to connect to and collect sensor and actuator data from over 8,000 points across multiple types of systems. These systems include HVAC, lighting, and other building automation systems, encompassing a diverse range of equipment such as 8 Chillers, 9 Boilers, 5 Cooling Towers, 25 Air Handling Units, 60 Laboratory Fume Hoods, 206 zones, 20 pumps and motors, and various other miscellaneous equipment.

This comprehensive data collection occurs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, amassing approximately 1.5 million data samples daily. The collaboration seeks to leverage this vast amount of data to improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance the overall performance of the campus facilities.

The campus space is a mix of FDA-validated and non-validated areas, accommodating offices, research labs, manufacturing, and energy utility generation. The buildings under Cimetrics' remit cover 1.5 million square feet, with the project involving data collection from over 4,700 physical points across five of these buildings.

This project marks a significant step forward in the integration of advanced analytics and optimisation in facilities management. By harnessing the power of Cimetrics' Analytika Pro solution, GPM is set to revolutionise the way they manage their campus facilities, ensuring a more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable future.
