Redevelopment of Newcastle's Northumberland Street nears completion, as digital blueprints unveiled
Northumberland Street, often referred to as the "beating heart" of Newcastle city centre, is undergoing a significant transformation as part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment project. This stretch of road, with a long history dating back to medieval times when it served as a thoroughfare for pilgrims traveling to Holy Island and a section of the A1, is set to regain its prominence with visuals, features, and attractions reflecting its status.

The redevelopment includes pedestrianisation, with further phases of the transformation set to include the installation of street furniture, planting, and lighting.
