Ravensburg Mayor Dirk Bastin to Lead TWS Supervisory Board, Driving Energy Transition

Dirk Bastin, the mayor of Ravensburg, will take over as the chairman of the supervisory board of Technische Werke Schussental GmbH & Co. KG (TWS) on January 1, 2025. He succeeds Alexander Geiger, the mayor of Weingarten, who will serve as deputy chairman.

The supervisory board of TWS, consisting of 14 representatives from the two municipalities, EnBW, and the employees' side, works closely with the management to develop the company's target catalog. The chairmanship alternates every two years between the representatives of the two main shareholders, Ravensburg and Weingarten.

Bastin, who will hold the position for two years, aims to advance the energy transition in the region by working closely with the TWS management. Geiger emphasizes the importance of expanding heat networks for a secure and climate-neutral heat supply. TWS, operating over 100 heat generation facilities, is driving the expansion of district heating networks in both cities.

With Bastin's appointment, TWS continues its commitment to sharpening its ecological profile through investments in renewable energy facilities and innovative mobility concepts, all while ensuring a secure and climate-neutral heat supply for the region.
