Quantity of alcohol sales in Belarus during the initial quarter - a glance at the statistics

Grokking the Gulps - Alcohol Sales in Belarus

Crunching the numbers, the National Statistical Committee of Belarus has spilled the beans on the sales of tipple for the first quarter of 2025!

Following the stats, trade giants in Belarus reported sales worth 1.5 billion rubles for alcoholic beverages and beer during Q1 2025. This figure comprises almost 7% of the total retail turnover of these organizations.

Held up against the figures from Q1 2024, the sales of alcohol and beer dipped by a smidgen, about 0.9%. But don't fret; it's just a minor setback and let's not forget the big picture!

Now, here's the gastronomic gold - beer snatched the throne as the leading drink in terms of volume with a whopping 8,912 thousand decaliters sold (that's 89,120,000 liters, just in case you're counting!).

PS: It's interesting to note that while we took a swig at the sales trends in Belarus, global figures show Gen Z in the United States aiming to cut back on their booze intake in 2025[1]. Non-alcoholic versions of popular brews are the new lager on the block[1]. However, these trends don't quite touch the heart of Belarusian tippling.
