QatarEnergy Launches Helium 4 Plant, Expanding Production to 4.1bcf by 2025

QatarEnergy has initiated work on its Helium 4 plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City, with completion expected by 2025. This follows the recent start of the Helium 5 plant project, set to begin soon thereafter.

The Helium 4 plant is already more than halfway through its engineering phase. Once operational, it will add 1.5bcf to QatarEnergy LNG's annual helium production, raising the total to 4.1bcf. This plant is scheduled to come online in 2025.

The Helium 5 plant, set to begin construction soon, will further boost capacity to 5.6bcf once it starts production. Each of these new plants is designed to produce 1.5bcf of helium annually once fully optimised. QatarEnergy has confirmed that its QatarEnergy LNG helium plant will be online by 2027.

With the commencement of Helium 4 and the upcoming start of Helium 5, QatarEnergy is expanding its helium production capacity significantly. These projects, once completed, will significantly enhance QatarEnergy LNG's helium production capabilities.
