Puso Village obtains an occupancy permit from Cebu2World
The long-awaited Puso Village, a commercial development by CEBU2WORLD Development Inc. (C2W), has officially opened its doors to the public. Located near Compania Maritima, Puso Village is a significant part of the ongoing efforts to revitalise and modernise the Carbon Public Market as a tourism and economic zone.
On July 18, 2025, Puso Village held a public soft opening, following a ceremonial event and exclusive preview for select guests the previous day. This milestone was made possible after C2W secured the Occupancy Permit for the project, which was issued on July 16, 2025, following the completion of the application process.
The Puso Village project, developed by a subsidiary of Megawide Construction Corporation, features local food stalls, curated retail, and cultural experiences inspired by Cebuano heritage. The developer, C2W, stated that they had fully complied with all legal and technical requirements during the development process.
However, it is important to note that the Puso Village project has faced some legal and permit issues related to a long-standing land ownership dispute between the Cebu Port Authority and the Cebu City Government. Despite these challenges, the project is moving forward as part of the broader efforts to transform the waterfront area of Cebu City.
