The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Ford prepares to participate in the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a heavily modified Mustang Mach-E. Dubbed the 'Super Mach-E', this electric vehicle is a far cry from its production counterpart, showcasing an extreme aero and a track-ready stance that hints at its racing pedigree.

Ford's return to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb follows back-to-back appearances with the electric SuperVan and SuperTruck. The 'Super Mach-E' is expected to make Ford's most dramatic ascent yet, thanks to its race-bred aggression and extreme aero.

The 'Super Mach-E''s design marks a departure from the traditional Mustang Mach-E design, with its visuals indicating a clear emphasis on racing rather than road use. The vehicle features a massive splitter up front, a rear wing and diffuser that are significantly larger compared to Ford's previous SuperVan and SuperTruck entries. Its appearance is more that of a racing prototype than a production crossover.

The powertrain details of the 'Super Mach-E' are yet to be disclosed, but it is rumoured to feature a 1000kW tri-motor setup, capable of around 1044kW (1400hp). The downforce of the vehicle is an impressive 6125 pounds (2779kg), surpassing both the SuperVan 4.2 and the SuperTruck.

Ford Performance has been responsible for the modification and deployment of the 'Super Mustang Mach-E' for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2025. The experienced racer Romain Dumas will be at the wheel, aiming to set a new benchmark on the mountain.

While Ford has not announced if it aims to break a record in the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the 2024 SuperVan effort significantly improved the benchmark time. The 'Super Mach-E' could very well continue this trend, making history at the iconic event.

The 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb takes place on June 22. Until then, the automotive world eagerly awaits the debut of the 'Super Mach-E' and the spectacle it promises to bring to the hill climb.
