Pratt & Whitney Wins $18M NATO Deal for TF33 Engine Sustainment

Pratt & Whitney has secured a significant contract worth $18 million from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The deal involves sustaining TF33 engines used in NATO's airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft, specifically the E-3 Sentry.

The contract, set to last for three years with a possible two-year extension, requires Pratt & Whitney to maintain the TF33-100A engines for the 14 E-3A Sentry AWACS aircraft operated by NATO. The work will be carried out across multiple locations, including the NATO Air Base in Geilenkirchen, warehouses in Turkey and Greece, and Pratt & Whitney's facility in East Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

The comprehensive engine sustainment services provided by Pratt & Whitney will encompass materials management, part forecasting, procurement, and technical support. This ensures the engines remain in optimal condition, ready to serve NATO's critical airborne warning and control missions.

The $18 million contract awarded to Pratt & Whitney underscores NATO's confidence in the company's capabilities to maintain the TF33 engines powering its E-3 Sentry AWACS fleet. The three-year deal, with an option to extend, reflects the strategic importance of these engines to NATO's air operations and the need for reliable, long-term sustainment.
