Power Grid Secures Rs 705.51 Crore Projects to Boost Grid Operations and Disaster Readiness

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd has secured two significant infrastructure projects worth Rs 705.51 crore. The projects aim to enhance grid operations and disaster readiness across the country.

The first project, valued at Rs 209.68 crore, involves setting up a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system. This system will be implemented across all five regional grids in India, improving communication and coordination during grid operations.

The second project, costing Rs 495.83 crore, focuses on procuring 20 sets of Emergency Restoration System (ERS). This is part of the government's Make in India initiative, promoting domestic manufacturing. The ERS will bolster the grid's resilience and quicken restoration times during power outages.

Power Grid has also been awarded the Inter-State Transmission System project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The Letter of Intent (LoI) for this project was received on 29th September, 2025. The project's details, including its value and timeline, are yet to be disclosed.

The successful bid for these projects reflects Power Grid's commitment to strengthening India's power infrastructure. The company's shares traded higher at Rs 280.95 on NSE, indicating investor confidence in these strategic developments.
