Paramount Skydance to Bid Again for Warner Bros. Discovery as M&A Heats Up

Paramount Skydance, backed by David Ellison and National Amusements, is making a second attempt to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery after an initial bid was turned down. Meanwhile, S&P Global has agreed to buy With Intelligence for $1.8 billion, and Papa John's has received a takeover offer from Apollo Global. Other notable deals include PotlatchDeltic's merger with Rayonier and Jardine Matheson's acquisition of Mandarin Oriental.

Paramount Skydance, supported by Ellison and National Amusements, is set to submit a second bid for Warner Bros. Discovery following a report in the Los Angeles Times. This move comes after the company's initial offer was rejected. In another significant deal, S&P Global has agreed to acquire With Intelligence for a hefty $1.8 billion, expanding its services.

In the world of mergers and acquisitions, PotlatchDeltic is nearing a deal with Rayonier, valued at over $7 billion. Pizza chain Papa John's has received a takeover bid from Apollo Global at $64 per share. Brighthouse Financial is also in talks for a sale, with Sixth Street offering around $55 per share. Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental will be fully acquired by Jardine Matheson in a deal worth about $4.2 billion. Raymond James Financial has agreed to take a majority stake in GreensLedge Holdings, although the terms remain undisclosed. BioCryst Pharmaceuticals is set to acquire Astria Therapeutics for around $700 million in enterprise value. Lastly, Commercial Metals has agreed to purchase Foley Products for $1.84 billion in cash.
