OPSWAT Unveils MetaDefender Aether to Block Zero-Day Cyber Threats in Real Time
OPSWAT has launched MetaDefender Aether, a new AI-powered system designed to detect zero-day threats at network entry points. The platform combines multiple layers of threat analysis into a single, unified environment. It aims to block unknown cyber risks before they reach users or internal systems.
MetaDefender Aether intercepts files from all entry points, including email attachments, cloud storage, web traffic, and removable media. Each file passes through four AI-driven layers: threat reputation, dynamic sandboxing, machine learning-based scoring, and similarity-based threat hunting.
The system resolves nearly half of all threats in the first reputation-check stage. Only suspicious files move to deeper analysis, reducing unnecessary processing. This approach helps achieve up to 99.9% detection efficacy for zero-day threats while improving operational speed.
The platform operates across cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped environments. It supports seven key regulatory frameworks: NERC CIP, NIS2, SWIFT CSP, CMMC, IEC 62443, GDPR, and HIPAA. Integration with existing MetaDefender tools—such as Core, Cloud, Email Security, and Cross-Domain—ensures seamless adoption.
For security teams, Aether provides a single, confidence-scored verdict per file. Results are structured for immediate use by SOC analysts, SIEM systems, and SOAR workflows.
MetaDefender Aether offers a streamlined way to detect advanced threats at the network perimeter. By combining AI-driven analysis with regulatory compliance, the platform reduces manual workloads and speeds up response times. Organisations can now deploy it across different IT environments without disrupting existing security setups.
