Biggest Solar Power Plant in Baden-Württemberg Now Linked - Operational solar farm in Baden-Württemberg, Germany's largest to date.

Baden-Württemberg's largest solar park, a significant milestone in renewable energy, has been connected to the power grid in Langenenslingen, Biberach district. The 80-megawatt facility, built by EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg, spans 80 hectares and contains 146,016 solar modules. The solar park is projected to produce electricity sufficient for approximately 30,000 households annually.

The project, self-funded without state subsidies, reportedly cost in the mid-double-digit million range. Construction started in February 2024 and was completed in 2025. EnBW began planning the solar park in 2019.

Strong support from the local community is evident as all decisions on the project received unanimous approval from municipal and local councils. The official opening ceremony scheduled for July will be attended by high-ranking political representatives.

To safeguard local fauna and flora, EnBW cooperated with the municipality and local authorities. Measures include preserving existing orchard trees, planting around 250 additional shrubs and trees, and creating 30 ponds for amphibians. This operation of the solar park aims to reduce approximately 60,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year compared to traditional power generation methods.

EnBW's extensive large-scale, subsidy-free renewable energy projects demonstrate their unwavering commitment to sustainable energy development, responsibly balancing economic growth with environmental and community benefits.
