Open Banking Expo Canada

Canada’s Open Banking sector is preparing for a major gathering in 2026. The Open Banking Expo Canada will bring together regulators, banks, fintechs, and innovators to shape the future of financial services. This year marks a critical phase as the country moves closer to a fully implemented consumer-driven banking system.

The event will focus on three key areas: Open Banking, Payments (including Real-Time Rails), and Open Finance. These stages will cover implementation, oversight, and emerging opportunities in the sector. Attendees can also engage in targeted meetings through the event app or connect in the Networking Zone.

An expanded exhibition hall will showcase innovations from companies preparing for Canada’s next financial phase. The Open Banking Expo Studio will provide live reactions and insights from industry leaders throughout the event. The federal government has already committed to advancing Open Banking in Budget 2025. This includes finalising the Consumer-Driven Banking Act and shifting oversight to the Bank of Canada. The expo will conclude with a Networking Drinks Reception, where The Powerlist 2026 will be unveiled, honouring pioneers in financial innovation and inclusion.

The Open Banking Expo Canada 2026 arrives at a pivotal moment for the country’s financial ecosystem. With new regulations, expanded oversight, and growing industry participation, the event will play a key role in defining the next steps for consumer-driven banking. The Powerlist and expanded exhibition highlight the sector’s rapid evolution and the increasing demand for collaboration.
