Resignation of VW Group CEO Blume as Porsche CEO imminent - Oliver Blume Steps Down as Porsche CEO; Successor Kept Secret
Oliver Blume, who has led Porsche as CEO for a decade and also serves as group chairman of Volkswagen AG, is set to step down from his role at Porsche. His successor has been chosen, though the name remains under wraps. Blume, however, will continue in his position at Volkswagen AG.
Blume's departure from Porsche is imminent, with negotiations for his successor already underway. The supervisory board has confirmed that Oliver Leiters is available for the position. While the exact identity of the successor is being kept secret, two names have surfaced in reports: Michael Steiner, the current development chief, and Michael Leiters, the former CEO of McLaren Automotive. Both are said to be technically skilled and well-known within the Volkswagen network.
Blume's decision to leave Porsche comes as he aims to focus more on his role as group CEO of Volkswagen AG. Despite his departure from Porsche, he will continue to serve as the group's chairman.
With Blume's departure from Porsche on the horizon, the stage is set for his successor to take the helm. The chosen candidate, whose identity remains a secret for now, is expected to bring valuable technical skills and familiarity with the Volkswagen network to the role. Meanwhile, Blume will continue to steer Volkswagen AG as its group CEO.
