Nishimura expands its London presence by welcoming back a former associate as a partner in the office.
Shingo Ito, a seasoned specialist in banking and finance, has returned to Nishimura & Asahi as a partner in the firm's London office. Ito's expertise lies in advising Japanese clients on a wide range of cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, and real estate transactions, with a focus on real estate and renewable energy investments by Japanese businesses.
Ito began his legal career at Nishimura & Asahi's Tokyo office in 2008 and gained extensive experience advising Japanese clients on cross-border transactions. His practice combines deep corporate law knowledge with experience in structuring, debt financing, and restructuring, enabling him to provide comprehensive legal advice in these areas.
After spending some time at Bird & Bird, Ito most recently served as legal director there, but his unique experience in both Tokyo and London allows him to continue supporting Japanese clients on a wide range of corporate transactions. His return to Nishimura & Asahi strengthens the London office's ability to provide on-the-ground support to Japanese businesses pursuing opportunities across Europe.
