Nick Candy's £275m Chelsea mansion sale shatters London property records

Property developer Nick Candy has sold his Chelsea mansion, Providence House, for over £275 million. The deal marks one of London's rare high-end property sales in recent years. It also stands as the city's most expensive house sale and one of the costliest in the world.

The buyer's identity remains undisclosed. UK Sotheby's International Realty handled the transaction, though further financial details have not been made public.

Providence House was originally bought by Nick Candy's brother, Christian, in 2012 for around £75 million. The property boasts luxury features, including a private cinema, an underground swimming pool, an orangery, and a panic room.

Nick Candy, a former Conservative donor, took on a senior role in Nigel Farage's Reform party last year. When questioned by the *Financial Times* about the sale, he denied any intention to sell the home and reportedly threatened legal action. Separately, Candy owns another high-value property—a duplex penthouse in One Hyde Park. That residence is currently on the market with an asking price of £175 million. No details have emerged about the selling price of Providence House or the factors affecting its valuation.

The sale of Providence House highlights the continued demand for ultra-luxury homes in London. With no public record of the buyer or precise financial terms, the transaction remains one of the most secretive high-value deals in recent property history. The price far exceeds the original purchase figure from over a decade ago.
