New passenger center inaugurated in Nürtingen during November
The Baden-Württemberg government is set to revolutionise public transport (ÖPNV) with the launch of the Bwegt initiative, aiming to make travel easier for passengers.
Starting from November 2025, the initiative will introduce new Bwegt ticket machines at key locations along the Tübingen-Nürtingen route, including Nuertingen, Bempflingen, Metzingen, Reutlingen main station, and Tübingen main station. In total, there will be 123 locations with ticket vending machines along this route.
To further assist passengers, seven Bwegt agencies with personal consultation will be established, and six video passenger centers with personal consultation will be set up. Transdev Vertrieb will operate these advisory and sales points, uniformly designed in the Bwegt style.
The DB travel centers in the southeastern part of the country, including Nuertingen station, are being moved to Bwegt passenger centers. The last day of sales for DB Vertrieb at the DB travel center in Nuertingen will be September 19th.
Renovation works at Nuertingen station will close advisory and sales points from September 20th to November 2nd. However, passengers can continue to buy tickets during this period at ticket machines and through digital distribution channels. The new Bwegt passenger center in Nuertingen will open on November 3rd.
The Bwegt initiative also includes 14 passenger centers offering personal consultation, and six video passenger centers. These centers will sell both regional and long-distance tickets.
The Bwegt initiative is part of a comprehensive effort by the state of Baden-Württemberg for sustainable and climate-friendly mobility. It encompasses Bwegt passenger centers, video passenger centers, agencies, and ticket machines.
The goal of Bwegt is to double passenger numbers in the Public Passenger Transport (ÖPNV) by 2030. To achieve this, Bwegt works with regional railway companies and other partners to continuously improve local and regional transport for passengers.
For more information about the Bwegt initiative, the Ministry of Transport can be contacted via the Press Office or the Citizen Representative. From autumn 2025, ticket sales in the southeastern part of Baden-Württemberg will be handled by Transdev Vertrieb. During the closing times, passengers can use ticket machines and digital distribution channels for ticket purchase.
