Meet the New Boss: Manish Tiwary, Digital Guru and Ex-Amazon Man, Takes Over Nestlé India as MD
Named Individual Manish Tiwary Set for Upcoming Position as Nestle India Chairman and Managing Director
In a bombshell move, Manish Tiwary, an e-commerce heavyweight, is set to take the reins as the Managing Director of Nestlé India from August 1, 2025, following the retirement of current MD, Suresh Narayanan. The appointment is contingent upon shareholder approval at the upcoming 66th Annual General Meeting.
The Board Votes for Tiwary
Nestlé S.A. and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC) recommended Manish Tiwary as the ideal candidate for the position. Tiwary joined Nestlé India in February 2025 and was designated as Key Managerial Personnel on April 24, 2025.
Born and raised in India, Tiwary boasts nearly three decades of leadership experience across global corporations. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and an MBA from IIM Bangalore. His previous stint at Nestlé S.A. as a Special Project Manager for the Asia-Oceania-Africa region provided valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit Nestlé India.
However, Tiwary is most renowned for his tenure at Amazon India, where he served as Country Manager for over eight years. He also gained 20 years of experience managing various functions at Unilever across regions such as India, the Gulf, and North Africa.
The Digital Guru Takes Charge
With Tiwary's vast experience in sales, marketing, and operations, the Board believes he is the ideal candidate to drive Nestlé India into the future. His extensive background in e-commerce aligns with the company's potential growth strategies, positioning him as an innovative leader with the right skills for the job.
The Board is also considering a second five-year term for P.R. Ramesh as Independent Non-Executive Director. Satish Srinivasan, Whole-Time Director, will also be up for reappointment at the 66th AGM.
Suresh Narayanan, Maggi Mastermind
As Manish Tiwary prepares to take the helm, current MD, Suresh Narayanan, will retire from his role effective July 31, 2025. Narayanan has been at the helm of Nestlé India for over 26 years and is credited for leading the comeback of the company's flagship instant noodle brand, Maggi, after a food safety ban in 2015.
