Theo Müller takes over yogurt brands Lünebest and Elinas - Müller Group expands with Lünebest and Elinas yogurt acquisition

The Müller Group has announced plans to acquire yogurt brands Lünebest and Elinas from Hochwald Foods. The deal includes a production facility in Lüneburg, along with its 150 employees. Regulatory approval for the takeover is still pending.

The Müller Group, headquartered in Luxembourg, already owns brands like Müller, Weihenstephan, and Landliebe. In 2024, the company reported annual revenue of €9.5 billion and employed around 33,800 people. Its products are sold in over 80 countries worldwide.

Lünebest is a well-established yogurt brand in northern Germany, while Elinas specialises in Greek-style yogurt. The acquisition will see production at the Lüneburg facility continue under Müller’s ownership. The company remains entirely family-owned, with no external shareholders.

The deal expands Müller’s yogurt portfolio with two new brands. If approved, the Lüneburg site will remain operational, keeping all 150 jobs intact. The acquisition strengthens Müller’s position in the German dairy market.
