Silvus Technologies' Mission-Critical Mobile Network Technology Acquired by Motorola Solutions
Silvus Technologies, a global leader in mission-critical mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET), has been acquired by Motorola Solutions. This strategic move aims to extend Silvus' reach through Motorola Solutions' global scale and long-standing relationships with government and public safety customers.
Silvus' advanced MANET technology finds specific applications in defense, border security, public safety, and other industries by enabling resilient, high-throughput, and secure wireless communications without dependence on fixed infrastructure. Its key benefits include highly secure data, video, and voice transmission in contested or infrastructure-limited environments, self-forming and self-healing mesh networks, scalability to hundreds of nodes, and excellent support for bandwidth-intensive applications like drones, sensors, and real-time video.
In defense, Silvus’ MANET technology supports frontline military operations where communication infrastructure is unavailable or compromised. It enables secure, low-latency control of autonomous systems such as drones and unmanned vehicles, improving situational awareness and tactical decision-making while maintaining connectivity across dispersed and mobile forces. In border security, the technology enhances operations by providing a reliable and scalable network that connects personnel and autonomous systems over wide ranges without fixed infrastructure, critical in complex or remote border environments.
