Moscow Hikes MCR Toll Fees to Manage Peak Traffic

Moscow city authorities have announced a hike in toll fees for using the Moscow Central Ring Motorway (MCR) during peak traffic hours. This is the second increase in a year, with the new rates set to come into effect from October 13th.

The city's transport department aims to manage traffic flow during busy hours with this change. The new toll rate per segment will be 10 rubles, up from the previous 7 rubles. Despite the increase, transiting the MCR will still cost 950 rubles, and most of the time, using the road will remain free. The increased tolls will apply on weekdays between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, leaving weekends, holidays, and off-peak hours unaffected.

In separate news, public transport fares in Tyumen have also risen. Cash fares have increased to 40 rubles, while card fares now stand at 35 rubles. Another two-ruble increase is planned for early 2026.

The Moscow city authorities believe the toll increase will help manage traffic flow during peak hours. Meanwhile, Tyumen residents will have to adjust to the new public transport fares, with another increase planned for next year.
