Moscow-based company Faberlic commits 1.5 billion rubles to establishing a new production plant.
Let's Talk Faberlic's New Plant
Hear ye, hear ye! Faberlic, the Russian powerhouse, just dropped a major announcement. They've opened a new plant for household chemicals, rolling out laundry detergents, cleaning agents, and more in Chekhov, Moscow region, according to TASS (thanks for the heads-up, press service!).
This monumental project, Faberlic's largest in a hot minute, covers over 14,000 square meters, ready to churn out 60 million units a year. Their investment? A hefty 1.5 billion rubles.
The new plant is equipped with state-of-the-art, high-speed machinery, manned by about 120 dedicated workers, with more on the horizon as production ramps up.
But that's not all Faberlic's got cookin'. They're also makin' perfumes, as Anton Siluanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, happily confirms. Turns out, the domestic perfume producers' share of the market skyrocketed by 10 percentage points from 2020 to 2024, reaching a whopping 20%. In 2024 alone, Russia produced a staggering 6,900 tons of perfumes and toilet water, a 17% increase from 2023 and a 41% bump from 2022. Faberlic, Royal Barber, Equivalent, Brocard, and Sergio Nero were some of the top players in the game.
Before you ask, yep, other brands are gettin' in on the action too. The Russian brand BioMio, owned by OOO "Splat Global," shifted production from Denmark to Russia and cranked out dry laundry powders at the Capella factory in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Now, let's state the obvious (or is it?): we're not digging into the crunchy details about Russian household chemical manufacturers like Faberlic and BioMio from 2022 to 2024. But here's the general gist: those local companies mighta reaped benefits from increased domestic focus and reduced Western competition during that period. The broader consumer goods market was swimmin' with growth, especially for those big on local and non-Western suppliers. As for our Faberlic and BioMio, it seems they're quietly makin' a name for themselves in the midst of geopolitical challenges and supply chain shifts.
The new Faberlic plant, a significant addition to their business, is producing household chemicals such as laundry detergents and cleaning agents, with an annual capacity of 60 million units and an investment of 1.5 billion rubles. Furthermore, Faberlic is expanding its portfolio to include perfumes, a sector where domestic producers' market share increased by 10 percentage points from 2020 to 2024.
