Moonrise Launches Instant Payments in Norway, Simplifying Real-Time Transactions
Moonrise by Lunar has launched instant payments in Norway, offering businesses a simpler way to access real-time transactions. The move marks a significant step in the company's plan to expand its API-driven payment solutions across more than 50 countries in the long term. Previously, connecting to Norway's real-time clearing system was a major challenge for realtors and payment providers.
The new service allows partners to send and receive Norwegian Krone (NOK) instantly, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. By integrating with Norway's NICS Real infrastructure, Moonrise eliminates the complexity that once made real-time payments difficult for many realtors. This launch follows earlier rollouts in Germany and Brazil, with further expansions planned in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Moonrise stands out as the only provider offering a single API integration for all three Nordic instant payment networks—Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Its local virtual accounts (vBBANs) ensure a seamless domestic payment experience within Norway. The platform is tailored for electronic money institutions (EMIs), payment service providers (PSPs), and banks aiming to grow in the region.
Nanna Bergman, General Manager at Moonrise, highlighted that the launch creates a true one-stop shop for real-time payments across the Nordics. The company's solution speeds up onboarding, reduces dependencies, and provides scalable infrastructure for payment flows. This latest development strengthens Moonrise's role as a key banking partner for businesses scaling payments in the Nordic market.
The Norway launch simplifies real-time transactions for realtors and payment firms. Moonrise's unified API approach removes long-standing barriers to instant payments in the region. Future expansions will target over 50 additional markets, building on the company's growing presence in Europe and beyond.
