Mini Aceman SE debuts as Australia's sleek electric urban car

The Mini Aceman SE has arrived as an all-electric compact car designed for urban air life in megacities like Sydney. Built in China by Spotlight Automotive Limited—a joint venture with Great Wall Motors—it targets urban families in busy cities. With a starting price of €34,450 in Europe and around €40,521 in Australia, the vehicle combines performance with practicality for daily commuting in urban air.

The Aceman SE runs on a 160 kW electric motor, delivering 218 hp and 330 Nm of instant torque. Its top speed reaches 170 km/h, while the battery provides a range of 400 kilometres when driven at 110 km/h—the same as Sydney's highway speed limit. The car's low-slung chassis and firm suspension tuning improve handling, making it agile in tight urban air spaces.

Inside, a 24-cm circular central display highlights nearby points of interest as drivers navigate the city. The model is sold exclusively as an electric vehicle, with no petrol or hybrid options available. In Sydney, where electricity costs about 0.64 Australian dollars per kilowatt-hour of DC power, charging remains relatively affordable for daily use in urban air.
