Military personnel and their families in the Gulf region receive a financial aid of 100 million dollars.

Gulf Development Plc, a leading Thai energy company and telecom operator, has made a significant donation of 100 million baht to the Royal Thai Army. This generous contribution aims to enhance the quality of life and morale for frontline troops and their families, helping them recover and rebuild with dignity [1][2].

The donation comes in response to the growing severity of the conflict with Cambodia, prompting Gulf Development Plc and Mr. Sarath, the company's CEO, to offer broader support. Previously, Gulf Development Plc supported the military by providing satellite communication services, including expanding 4G/5G signals in remote border areas to improve security personnel communication [1][2]. The company also delivered over 2,000 relief kits to soldiers and civilians affected by the conflict, and provided 1.2 million baht in direct aid to soldiers injured by landmines during patrols [1][2].

Mr. Sarath, whose father served in the armed forces, expressed that as a Thai company, it is their duty to stand with those who protect the nation. He encouraged Thais to contribute however they can in support of national sovereignty and the welfare of frontline defenders. The donation from Gulf Development Plc is the largest by a Thai company in support of the soldiers affected by the border conflict with Cambodia [1].

The donation was officially made at Army Headquarters to Gen Pana Klaewplodthuk and Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang. The funds will be managed by a committee to ensure the donated funds are used transparently and effectively in line with Gulf’s intentions [1]. The donation is part of Gulf’s ongoing community outreach efforts through the GULF Care programme, focusing on relief and welfare support in provinces affected by border tensions such as Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani [1].

The donated funds are intended for the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice or were seriously wounded. Mr. Sarath described the donation as a way to express gratitude to the soldiers and their families for their service and sacrifices in protecting the nation [1][2]. The Second Army Region commander expressed gratitude to Gulf Development Plc for its continued support, recognizing the significant impact the donation will have on the lives of those affected by the border conflict.
