Metal Industry Employers' Associations Merge for Stronger Voice

In a move to bolster their influence, the Employers' Association of the Heavy Metal Industry of Wuppertal and Niederberg e.V. and the Employers' Association Solingen e.V. have merged. The decision was made unanimously at extraordinary general meetings.

The new entity, operating under the name 'Bergisch Employers' Association of the Metal Industry e.V.', will boast over 100 collectively agreed member companies. This merger aims to strengthen the employers' voice, enabling them to negotiate more effectively with trade unions and political decision-makers.

The consolidation took effect retroactively from December 31, 2023. Despite extensive searches, the name of the chairman of the Bergisch Metal Employers' Association e.V. since this date remains unknown.

The merger of the two employers' associations signals a significant shift in the heavy metal industry's representation. With a larger membership and a unified voice, the Bergisch Employers' Association of the Metal Industry e.V. is poised to play a more influential role in industry negotiations and policy-making.
