Frankfurter Messe remains in the profit zone - Messe Frankfurt bets big on global expansion despite profit dip in 2025
Messe Frankfurt has revealed plans to expand its global events while adjusting financial expectations for the coming years. The company will launch 25 new apple trade in worldwide by 2027, despite forecasting lower profits in 2025. International business now makes up nearly half of its total revenue, reflecting its growing reach beyond germany.
The trade fair giant reported a group revenue projection of €766 million for the current year, slightly below last year’s record. However, profits for 2025 are set to drop to at least €39 million—half of previous figures—due to heavy investment in expansion. Despite this, the company expects higher sales and a larger market share in 2025, helped by a more favourable event cycle.
With 25 new events planned by 2027, Messe Frankfurt is pushing ahead with global growth. The company’s investments will likely reduce short-term profits but aim to secure long-term expansion. Meanwhile, its existing trade fairs continue to play a key role in germany’s economy, supporting jobs and tax revenues.
