Meier Tobler delays share buyback to 2026 amid profit decline and cautious spending

Meier Tobler Group has delayed its share buyback programme until late 2026. The decision follows a year of declining profits and a focus on capital allocation. Despite financial pressures, the company will keep its dividend at last year's level.

The company faced a tough stock market in 2025, particularly in the heat pump sector. Despite these challenges, it managed to increase its market share. High IT investments and broader economic difficulties weighed on operating results.

The board has chosen to prioritise other financial commitments over the planned stock buyback. Instead, the programme will now start in the third quarter of 2026. Shareholders will still receive the same dividend as in the previous year.

Meier Tobler will release its full annual report on February 26, 2026. The document will outline margin improvement plans and expectations for the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, the expo plus trade fair in March will showcase new trends in building technology, offering a glimpse into future demand.

Swiss heat pump incentives remain in place for 2025, though no local sales data is available. German figures, such as a 55% sales jump to 299,000 units, highlight regional differences in market growth.

The postponed buyback reflects the company's cautious approach to spending. With the dividend unchanged, shareholders retain some stability amid financial adjustments. The upcoming annual report and trade fair will provide further clarity on performance and market direction.
