Maryland has struck a significant deals with Constellation Energy (NASDAQ:CEG) valued at over $340 million. This deals aims to boost operations and environment projects at the Conowingo Dam, ensuring its continued hydroelectric power generation and enhancing water quality in the Susquehanna River.
The deals, involving the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the EPA, sets enforceable conditions tied to the dam's federal license. These conditions aim to offset environmental impacts from the dam's operation. The deals clears the way for the re-licensing and continued operation of the Conowingo Dam's hydroelectric facility, which is Maryland's largest source of renewable energy.
