Manitoba Issues 862 Invitations to Skilled Workers to Address Labor Shortages
Manitoba has issued a significant number of invitations to skilled worker candidates this week, aiming to address labor shortages and support workforce stability. A total of 862 invitations were given out through the Skilled Worker stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The MPNP issued 583 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates employed in healthcare-related occupations or home support workers and caregivers. This targeted approach reflects the province's efforts to fill critical gaps in its labor market.
Occupation-specific draws were also conducted, with 203 LAAs given to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. Additionally, 279 LAAs were issued to candidates invited by the MPNP through strategic recruitment initiatives. These initiatives involve collaboration with employers, communities, and cultural organizations to identify overseas candidates with strong settlement potential.
Invitations were issued under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. Candidates working in regulated occupations were required to hold a valid Manitoba license. Furthermore, 180 LAAs were issued under the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective PNP Candidates (TPP).
Manitoba's strategic approach to immigration has resulted in a substantial number of invitations issued this week. By targeting in-demand occupations and collaborating with various stakeholders, the province aims to meet its labor market needs and support economic growth.
