Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 turns Negeri Sembilan into a booming economic powerhouse
Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0) is transforming Negeri Sembilan into a key economic hub. Launched in December 2018 by the state government, the project aims to extend Greater Kuala Lumpur southwards. It will drive growth by attracting high-value industries and international investment. The MVV 2.0 corridor spans six specialised zones, each targeting a distinct sector. A 16,000-acre aerospace ecosystem zone will house the entire supply chain, from manufacturing to research. Another area focuses on high-tech and advanced manufacturing, designed to lure cutting-edge companies. The smart port and free trade zone features an AI-powered container terminal to boost international trade.
A modern urban and wellness centre will combine business parks, residential areas, and medical tourism facilities. The project also includes a semiconductor valley and a maritime and tourism hub. By the end of 2024, eight major firms—including YTL, Sime Darby Property, and Gamuda—had committed to investing in the zones. Guided by principles of competitiveness, inclusivity, and sustainability, MVV 2.0 seeks to capture economic spillover from nearby regions. An initial phase is already underway, with completion expected in 2023 after a rescue contractor was appointed.
The project is set to reshape Negeri Sembilan's economy by creating jobs and attracting global businesses. With infrastructure taking shape and investments secured, MVV 2.0 moves closer to becoming a strategic extension of Malaysia's capital region. The focus remains on high-value industries and long-term growth.
