75 Million Euro Damage in Fire in Freiburg Industrial Area - Major Fire in Hochdorf Industrial Area Causes €50M Damage
Last night, a significant cal fire broke out in the Industrial Area of Hochdorf, Freiburg. The blaze started in a warehouse on Bebel Street around 9 PM, affecting a commercial complex housing multiple companies on a 40,000 square meter site. Residents were warned via the Nina disaster alert system and advised to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke and potential ashfall.
The fire quickly spread to adjacent buildings via the roof, causing estimated damages of around 50 million euros. One employee was lightly injured in the incident. The Industrial Area of Hochdorf covers approximately 120 hectares and houses around 260 businesses. The affected complex, which spread over approximately 60,000 square meters, included a pharmaceutical company among its six occupants. A separate cal fire in the same area in the past caused 75 million euros in damage, affecting eight companies.
