Mahindra & Mahindra, the Indian multinational automotive manufacturer, has announced the development of four new concept models under the banner of the Vision series. These models, including the Vision.SXT, Vision.S, Vision.X, and Vision.T, are set to be unveiled at Mahindra's 'Freedom_Nu' event on August 15, 2025.

The Vision series is built upon the versatile NU_IQ platform, a next-generation, monocoque modular architecture designed for flexibility across body styles and powertrains. This platform supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, and configurations including FWD and AWD, as well as both LHD and RHD markets.

The Vision Series: A Broad Range of Models

Vision S

The Vision S is a sub-4m SUV that resembles a compact baby Scorpio with modern design elements. It features dual-pod LED headlights, a dual-screen dashboard, and premium interiors. The powertrain options for the Vision S include ICE, hybrid, and electric variants, all supported by the NU_IQ platform. The Vision S is expected to launch in the early part of 2027.

Vision T

The Vision T is an evolution of the Thar.e concept and previews a new model in the Thar family. It retains signature Thar cues such as a split grille, bonnet latches, flared wheel arches, and a tailgate-mounted spare tyre. The Vision T will be available with ICE and electric powertrains, both compatible with the NU_IQ platform. Production is expected to commence late in 2027 or early in 2028.

Vision X

The Vision X is an urban-friendly sub-4m crossover designed for the sub-compact SUV segment. It boasts squared-off wheel arches, a slim LED front fascia, full-width LED tail-lamps, and flush door handles. The Vision X will offer petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, all supported by the NU_IQ platform, with FWD and AWD configurations. The Vision X is expected to launch in the mid part of 2028 or early in 2029.

Vision SXT

The Vision SXT combines design elements from the Thar.e with practical pickup features, making it part of the NU_IQ lineup. The Vision SXT will offer similar powertrain options as the other models in the Vision series.

Market Expansion and Sales Growth

In July 2025, Mahindra sold a total of 83,691 units, marking a 26% growth compared to the same month last year. The utility vehicle segment accounted for 49,871 units, a growth of 20%, while the three-wheeler segment saw a strong 164% jump in sales, up to 9,475 units in July 2025, compared to 3,593 units in the year-ago period.

Total exports for Mahindra increased by 83% Y-o-Y, amounting to 2,774 units in July 2025. Mahindra's total vehicle sales from January to July 2025 reached 2,01,938 SUVs, a 22% increase from the corresponding period of FY25.

These new models are positioned as global offerings to fuel Mahindra's overseas expansion. The Vision series, with its diverse powertrain options, is set to cater to evolving market trends, with production and launch schedules spanning early 2027 to early 2029.
