Local Women’s Group Donates €1,500 to Lifesaving Bone Marrow Charity
A local women’s group has donated €1,500 to a life-saving charity. The Lauchdorf-Baisweil-Großried Frauen-Dorf-Gemeinschaft, known for organising community events, presented the funds to the German Bone Marrow Donor Center (DKMS). The money came from their Advent celebration held last December in the parish hall.
The donation was announced during the association’s Christmas party. Members gathered to celebrate the season and reveal how the funds would be used. The group expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the Advent event, making the donation possible.
The Frauen-Dorf-Gemeinschaft has long been active in Lauchdorf, Baisweil, and Großried. While no official founding date is recorded, the organisation regularly hosts local gatherings, including Advent markets and parish hall events. Their efforts this year directly supported DKMS, a charity dedicated to fighting blood cancer through bone marrow donations.
The €1,500 will go toward DKMS’s work in matching donors with patients in need. The women’s association highlighted the importance of community support in making such contributions possible. Their donation reflects ongoing local engagement with charitable causes.
